I wanted to know if anyone is using Hair and if so, are the hair strands renderable in Maxwell? How does it work?
Do you convert from Hair particle to polygon object at some stage?

I need to do some Hair stuff which I can't get done using fur materials.

On the Generate tab of the hair object, you should set the 'Type' parameter to something like 'Flat', 'Triangle', etc. so that it will generate mesh geometry - the plugin will write these meshes into the MXS. Aside from that, it is best to enable Generate > Advanced > Single Object to drastically reduce the export time, and to avoid random crashes I've seen coming from the hair plugin during export.
