have had a test scene model in adt to max to maxwell

lit the scene with an hdri and a few interior lights, using standard maxwell materials.

but get sl 17 after 29 hours on 10x dual quads. at resolution 3500 x 3500
and noise on the window frames.

any idea if using the hdri for reflection and not lighting would speed this up?
will post an image when i work out how too.
thanks!

Are you using glass in the windows? You can upload an image to imageshack or similar and embed the direct link to the image in the post using the Img button.

Great exterior render. Are you using AGS from the wizard? Since you have interior lights, I would recommend it. It might clear faster. Also, you mentioned you are using HDR. How do you have it set up in your scene?

Are you sure the glass material is not refracting? It's an AGS type material? What is the metal like material for the structure, perhaps it's too reflective.

hello,

hdri is set in active image based enviro tab in back ground with enable and use background on everything else.

erm glass is ags 50 reflection as standard.

everything is modeled as is 5mm thck glass etc or should i do this as a single plane.

thanks

Great render,
indeed!!

Are you using pure white on the room-walls?
(255, 255, 255)
That could be a reason, try to use 238,238,238 as highest number.

All the best,
Andre

so far it leads me to thing the internal lights are the problem....

have quite a few. but have multi light unchecked as when checked the ram goes thru the roof.

any way of using multilights more efficently?

thanks

thanks for the comments so far.
