Hi, I'm installing new system(vistax64) to my pc but I've got a major problem. My pc doesn't recognise the dvd player so it won't boot from dvd.
Any solution?

Is it enabled as the primary / master in the bios settings?

That's the extent of my computer knowledge for the day, sorry :)

JCAddy's right, in the bios you can move the dvd up in boot priority so that it goes there before the hard drive. Don't forget to change it back.

Also, .. the jumpers on the rear of the drive HAVE to be configured correctly or it won't matter what you do in your BIOS.

There's usually a diagram on the rear that'll show you how to set it up as a primary/slave drive.

- Make sure the jumper shortcuts master on DVD

- Activate IDE controller in BIOS

- Make CD-ROM primary for boot

Btw, can you see your DVD detected by BIOS?

Just yesterday I installed a Philips dvd player on my pc and I couldn't see it in my bios as well, but once set as slave it was fine.
Also you might want to check if there is a disk wizard tool available on the website where you got your player from.
