This is a rendering of a new USB flash drive that my company is working on.

I'm sorry I can't show the face of the unit, as this would give away the IP.

I did the modeling (it's CRAP! hehehe) and Tom did the scene setup and texturing (awesome work, Tom!).

Black and white points post adjusted in Photoshop, nothing else.

Comments appreciated...

*** Updated *** Tom did some post work; here's the full size render.

I'm supplying the link because the image is big (size, not kbytes). If no one objects, I can make this an imbedded image.

Btw.. is the interior parts modeled too or just the outer shell ?

/ Max
The model was created in Solidworks. It is modeled inside and out. However, I strip the inside polys so that there is just a shell.

MonkeyBoy wrote:Would you please show how you setup the lighting? I'm just learning Maxwell and from what I can tell, it uses no lights.. only emiters? Which are object of any shape and/or size? With the emiter shader assigned?

Any information to your light setup would be helpful.

Thanks in advance,
Monkey Boy
Tom did the scene setup and texturing. Maybe he can show a screen grab of the "lights" and such and post it here? Tom?

Did you photoshop out something in the center white part ? It the reflections and color seem off there.

Other than that it awesome.

very nice! ...maybe an increase on the sub d will help to eliminate a bit the small bugs (especially at the round white - pink usb)...

great work!

Hey!

You win the prize! A "virtual" cookie!

Yes, you are correct. I modeled it this way so that you could see more connector pins. For people that are not familiar with these things, I wanted it to look more "electronic". Otherwise, you might "miss" the pins in the shell...

Out of curiosity, how long did this render take, and what level did it reach?
