If I use the Join tool in formZ to have multiple emitters act as one object (one slider in MultiLight), do I need to adjust the output parameters of the emitter material because the total surface area of the emitter is now much larger?

Thanks,
Dan

Yes...
I had a scene with 3 can lights, each emitting 900 lumens as individual emitters. When I joined them, I had to bump the lumen level to 2700 for it to render the same.

medmonds,

it depends what kind of units you use for your emitters.
if you use luminance[cd/m²] for example you do not need to change the value as its emitting light is multiplied by the area of the emitter.

might be a good idea to use this parameter because then you do not need to change your emitters in future.
