Please post here anything else (not relating to Maxwell technical matters)

i am testing indigo lately ( using blender exporter)and frankly it seems to me like to breath some new fresh air ...
What i like of indigo :
- eventually i can set the position of the sun not beeing forced to refer to latitude and long... what a releif!!!!!!
- semplicity ( the old semplicity of beta)
- worling dielettrics
- working netrender
- is as slow as MW or a bit more
Of course u cant have the complexity of maxwell but .....

..... Nl should wake up a bit IMO...cg world is growing outside fast...

Simplicity then seems to be a very subjective term:

I admit having a parameter called Russian Roulette is cool, but could you explain to me in "simple" terms what "large mutation probability" and "Max num consec rejections" do?

I think we should all wait and see what the next update brings, it sounds like it's coming pretty soon.

the fact is that if u live those strange setting the way they are the render come out well without problem...
...making a material wih mxeditor and texturing with the LW plugin instead is sometimes really like playing with the "Russian Roulette"!!! :D :D

Reducing the max number of consecutive rejections reduces noise, especially fireflies, at the cost
of introducing some bias into the render.

The "large mutation prob" parameter controlls the probability of using fresh random
numbers.

Maxwell is simple to use, plugins can be a problem but we have been informed that big changes will take place, starting with Maya.
NL must hurry because we have to get a better product. That's the only reason, don't compare Maxwell with other renderers.
Although I can see very good results with Vray and the newcomer Fryrender, I still think that Maxwell has the potential of being a great tool for every platform, maybe the better. Maybe there are some problems inside NL , some marketing and organization problems.
As I have already said NL should go on with some important agreements with other companies like AXYZ, GOT3d, EVERMOTION, DOSCH, choose what you want, to get nice maxwell-ready models. Also products like ONYXTREE, XFROG, would be great to have with Maxwell.
I believe there should be improvements for every part of Maxwell. Material editor, plugins, studio etc. This is just the GUI. The render engine works 99.99% fine and this is very important. The results are great.

Speed is dissapointing sometimes but we can only wait and see the next updates or the famous "RS2".

i just noticed this... indigo which is a free engine often is proving to me to be be stabler, less buggy and more friend than a 900 dollars or so render engine... and on this marvellous remder engine ( mean Maxwell) often i have to write down command as i were in dos ..
off course that maxwell is more refined and give more chanses but ....i am by now fed up with this uncoceivable defects..
