hi,

i wanted to try animation, i did a animated camera about 50 frames,
selected animation in the plugin and all( i think at least) as described in the manuals.

i added -nowait , bacause otherwise the rendering stopped after the first frames.

when i render the frame sequence, the plugin writes the mxi files(0-49)but all files contain not the animation but the current frame in the editor? so i got 50 frames with the same picture.

what do i miss? how can i make it render the frames 0-49 correctly?

thanks for help.

cheers

hi,

sorry not to solve your problem...it's the same for me. Well at least similar.
It does not write 50 mxi-files but:

1 mxi-file

50 mxs-files

50 jpg-files

...but all jpg contain the same perpective. No anim. It's the perspective I got in the c4d-editor. Wether it ist frame 1 opened in editor or frame 20, it only renders the frame in the c4d-editor, but 50 times.

I opened the mxs-files in studio and there you see that it's always the same cam, no change from frame1-mxs to frame2.mxs.

Btw: The mxi-file seems to be written 50 times but also to be overwritten. The mxi-file hast the same time-stamp as the last rendered frame.

Hi Stefan.

Does obj-animation work for you?
Here it does. But cam-animation does not.

edit: and how can i animate the time(physical sky). that would be my main use of it, to do sun studies?

object animation works.

camera only animation not, seems to be a small bug.

a workaround is maybe to just animate a nullobject over time, so that MW "sees" tis is an animation.

Hi Stefan.

Till now I wasn't able to solve this prob. And I think it's more a major problem then a small bug, since cam anim is essential in my eyes.

Could not solve the problem via proposed workaround (nullobject).

The nullobject-way works with obj.anim, but when i put a cam in a nullobj and animate the nullobject, mxcl still renders the frame that is seen in c4d-editor, may it be frame 1 or frame x.
So, also this way, the cam.position.changes are not seen by mxcl.
Was worth a try though.

Btw: Has there been an official statement like "Cam.anim doesn't work with this version of c4d-plug" or so - and I just missed it? As Maxer posted, in his 3dsmax-plug there seems to be no problem with cam.anim, so it seems to be the c4d-plug once again.

What about Tyrone? Can't Tyrone tell, if cam.anim is available in nowadays c4d-plug at all? Maybe, we're doing all this guessing for nothing...

Cheers. Mesut.

anyone experienced thinking particles animation and maxwell ?

for this, object animation does NOT work.

50 huge mxs files, 50 identical images.

any clue how to solve this ?

by the way, if you render out an animation, do you also have to close the mxcl manually in order to let the next frame start rendering ?

Hi arch4d.

"anyone experienced thinking particles animation and maxwell ?"
Nope, didn't. I will give it a try in TP and report.

"... do you also have to close the mxcl manually..."
Nope. As Illab mentioned in the first post above: "...i added -nowait , bacause otherwise the rendering stopped after the first frames..." It's the Command line options, where put this -nowait.

Btw: It would be fine to have the possibility to stop the renderer anywhere.

It can really hurt, when you've forgotten s.thing in your scene. You will have to stop and close all viewers that open automatically down to the last frame MANUALLY (!!!), when you put -nowait as command line option.

Tschö.

Ehmm, well...

I tried rendering a tp_scene but all that came out was the very first frame, x-times.

So until now, i tried 3 anim_ways:
1. manually keying position_changes of an object.
-> worked and was rendered by maxwell.
2. manually and automatically (given spline path) animating the camera
-> didn' work out in maxwell. first-frame-rendering
3. obj_animation via thinking_particles (obj growing in size)
-> didn't work out in maxwell. first-frame-rendering

Well, until now the only anim working: when I push that record-button key by key after changing obj_geometry/position manually...

What about the other c4d-goodies? Well, theres Mocca in my package, but I never really tried it, so if someone experienced tried it...does maxwell accept animations via mocca... via any module at all?

So long. Mesut.
