Hi Juan

Link below to a video of a repeatable crash which only happens with the Maxwell plug-in enabled in SolidWorks.

http://www.solidengineering.co.nz/maxpr ... asher.html

1/ Open an assembly with a library part in the assembly
2/ Open part from the assembly
3/ Add part to the design library overwriting the original library part
4/ Insert the same library part into the assembly
5/ SolidWorks Crashes.

Note similar crashes occur with the Maxwell plug-in enabled, however I have been unable to identify the steps to recreate the issue in the other cases.

I am also experiencing crashes in Solidworks when the Maxwell plugin is enables. Merely creating a new assembly, or opening an old assmebly causes the crash, usually after first closing an open assembly. The size of the assembly does not matter.

Edit: The problem exists with both the 1.0 and 1.1 plugins.

I'll add my name to the list as well.

(Edit)

My work around so far hass been turning off the Maxwell add-in and turning it on when I go to do a rendering.

Yeah, me too. Pretty much anytime I try to close SW it crashes.

Hello,

is anybody experiencing repeteable crashes without using library parts or you just get random crashes? We are still trying to know what is happening.

Apart from that some of you have posted a bug regarding missing materials assignments. If you can post a sequence of steps or a SW document it will be really helpful. Thanks a lot,

Regards,

Juan

I don't use any library parts. I unloaded the plugin last week and haven't had a crash since. I was crashing about 4 times a day with the plugin installed. Usually it was when I would close an assembly, SW asks if you want to save, click Save, crash.

Hi Juan

I have had very similar crashes to the one I demonstrated when not using library parts, mainly when opening or saving and when checking into PDMWorks. The library parts crash, that I demonstrated, was just very repeatable, you could probably reproduce the problem without using library parts by just opening an assembly editing a part and reinserting it into the assembly (just follow the same principles as the library parts crash).

The solution for me has been to switch off the Maxwell plug-in when it’s not in use. It hasn’t been a problem since, it’s hard to justify switching it back on just to find other repeatable crashes because of the time wasted due to the crashes .

I get crashes when I open a assembly, close it then open a different one or open two seperate assemblies.
