I think this one has succeeded in doing SOMETHING... it's "absolute scale" is no longer as clear. That's a good first step. If you're not absolutely sure how big it is, maybe I can convince you of a new scale...

really cool model Mike... maybe two tiny astronauts would give a sense of scale.. I believe it is hard to have a sense of scale without anything well known near by... because nobody has ever seen a monster vaissel like this one... this is maybe why...maybe.. in fact the same way "arch" people do... when they "comp" cardboards humans in their renders to give a sense of scale...

Well that first angle is the hero shot from one of the films, and I thought I'd start there... I'll move the camera around a bit and see what else shows up...
A wider angle would help a lot I think, the ship looks too compressed now. I would have killed myself after modelling only 10% of this....so much detail and it's not repetitive either.
Not super wide angle, but what focal length is it set at now? Because it looks a bit as if you were looking through a telescope, and since there's nothing around it to imply scale, it could really be any size. Getting closer to it would help I think so a wider angle is needed.
