i'm currently testing this first release of maxwell on OSX with the focus.mxs file. i found out that's quite easy to reach the RAM limits for rendering. at the moment i'm running smoothly a 3000x2000 rendering, but with 4000x3000 the app already tells me that it cannot allocate memory. i have 4G of RAM installed in may powermac G5. the app uses 2G for it's rendering at this stage.
what i would like to know if this size limit due to memory is temporary, related to this early alpha stage, or if it will be there also in the future builds? i'm used to render with at least 4000-6000 pixel wide stills in my work.
