don't take me wrong, I can understand the reasons for being angry, but:

we bought a software in an early stage, and we knew it since the very beginning this is why we bought it for half the price.
we bought it knowing that refund wouldn't be made, or at least I did not read anything about it.
some major issues happened when beta core reached its no-return point: this was quite unpredictable, I can understand it even though I am not a coder. so the core was rewritten, this is sad but what anyone can do? delay is directly consequent to this...

I know what you are complaining about is how NL is misleading and not telling the truth, and I am with you.

But I can't understand your point: do you want MW? the only thing to do is wait and see, because complaining here seems to me a complete waste of valuable time, it will be out when it's done obviously.
Do you want your money back or a kind of refund? same as above or a legal action as mike pointed out.

the rest are only words...

sorry for being harsh even if I am a freshmen here...

I haven't received clearance to discuss what's being worked on right now, and as for release plans, I don't have any info. One thing I think I can say, because it's been at least alluded to publicly, is that light values have been, uh, "addressed". I love the new system, and 99% of you will, too.

One other thing I can sort of say is that a very complex piece of material physics is being worked on which is EXTREMELY delicate, programming-wise. It's been disturbingly quiet down in the laboratory the last couple of weeks because it's like doing microsurgery and nobody wants to create instabilities. But today I saw some successful renders performing this function that neither alpha or beta could ever do -ever- and apparently no other engine can, either.

Also (I know these are crumbs, but it's the best I got right now), I can tell you the usual host of optimizations/noise reduction have gone another generation. You know, better, faster, cleaner. That will always been an ongoing process, largely dependent upon which new features are enabled.

There are a couple of suprises, of course, totally un-speculated about - those are my favorite. Focus Ring is an example of one of those.. nobody thought about it, asked for it, but it was cool. Crucial? Nah, but cool.

I'll try and get some clearance for specifics, there's actually a lot more going on.

As lovely as it is to hear about amazing new features.....

I wish they'd just fix some of the fundamental bugs with the plugins.

I will agree that I am tiring of the new spectacular features that are wonders of programming and that no other render will ever be capable of...meanwhile basic functions are still missing, sdk doesn't work etc.. etc..

I am happy progress is being made but sometimes it seems like it is the wrong progress.

Why do we continue to play the game "We know you bought the software, and yes we know we are very late in deliverying it but SORRY we won't tell you specifically what we are working on - its a secret". WTF is THAT about?????

EVERYONE here deserves to know EXACTLY what is going on.

Thanks buffos. I appreciate your argumentation.
=> I'm glad you post your arguments ( no longer ;-) ) shouting. Just analyse all this in a matter of fact.

he main issue is , if vray or someone else comes with a faster bugless solution in the meantime, maxwell will strugle.
No it won't because show me any archViz done in VRay that is as good as this http://img222.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... nal4tm.jpg from a new user or from any Vray User for that matter?

There is something special about light in Maxwell that I've yet to see from any other rendering engine. Even more so for the amount of effort you need to put in to get such a result.

Maxwell is opening archViz up for a whole new audience. Yeah some of their PR has been bizarre but ultimately it's going to be worth it. Why else would there be so much frustration on this forum if Maxwell didn't show so much promise? Apart from RC1-4 :-)

i am doing archviz and maxwell is already very very suited for it. i have done the 3rd payed job in 3-4weeks, 2 of it even competitions. and i am very happy with rc5!

you need fast pc of course and more than one license.

but i can tell you mw IS production ready for most kind of archviz. i have over 10 years experience, and worked with all kinds of renderengines over time. maxwell is the most stunning, best and nicest approach until now i think.

give it a try. of course mit migth not be so easy for beginners ot for people with just one home pc. thats true. you need lots af gigaherz...hope maxwell will counts sockets soon rather than cores fpr cpus.
