hi, does anyone knows if it is possible to adjust .ies light direction in Maxwell? For example if I wanna use the same .ies as a down-light and as an up-light, or any other direction.
Help would be highly appreciated

You should be able to rotate the sphere geometry as you wish. In Studio, there is a point cloud to show you which direction the IES is pointing. I don't think this point cloud is available in all plugins, but you should be able to see what's going on in FIRE.

thanks for the info.
I'm using rhino 5, so unfortunately there is no ies direction preview and also for some reason it does not change regardless of the geometry rotations...hm, need to look deeper into it.

Geometry in Rhino has no local transformation, so you need to assign your IES material to a spotlight, instead -- please see here:

it worked!!! thank you!

by the way, ies can also be applied to rectangular light, which gives even more control. Nice!
