Problem by import FBX file in Maxwell Studio

Hi there,

I evaluate Maya 2014 LT with Maxwell Studio. I create simple sphere in Maya LT and export it as a FBX file.
Now I import that FBX file in Maxwell Studio and it looks awkward (see Picture). What version of FBX format
does Maxwell Studio support? Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to set some extra settings while exporting
FBX file in Maya LT?

hi there,

problem solved. one just need to triangulate the mesh (either before export or in export settings) and it all works well.

Hi Dalibor

I don't use Maya with Maxwell but isn't there a Maxwell plug-in you can download for Maya? I use Cinema 4d's Maxwell plugin and never have to go near Studio as a rule. You should be able to set up your scene with all lighting and materials in Maya then export to Maxwell Render at the end.

Hi Rich,

I was testing Autodesk Maya 2014 LT which does not accept any plugins
and can do only FBX export so there was no other options then to use Maxwell Studio.
