exclude objects only in alpha channel render

Hi,

is there a way to exclude some objects from the alpha channel but include them for the render channel without having to render twice (which I do now)?

the reason is, I have glass objects, which need the refraction from the background, but I don't want the background rendered, so I want an alpha channel that excludes this background.

Hej wim.

i guess " hidden from camera" ( maxwell properties ) should work - just let the the "hidden from Refl/Refr unchecked.

I tried that, for some reason, it did not work (months ago), so I did the two separate render passes since then, and now it does while you pointed at it again. so many thanks!
