I think the new version doesn't keep the alternate search paths for textures etc.
Every time I start it I see there's the default arroway textures path at slot no. 1,
but rest of the slots - where I've typed my input - are wiped...

I think there's aonther bug,too:
Some of my MXS references are not loading anymore. Can't tell what's the criteria for
the ones that load and the ones that don't.
Reverting to 2.7.1...

I have not had these problems you mention. Are you sure your file structure hasn't been changed?

I've discovered it after merging 2 mxi's that are from 2.7.1 and 2.7.2 and noticed that some trees failed to appear in the 2.7.2 render.
also tested a few times the path bug - it's a bug for sure.
