Dummy Texture ...

when using maxwell with softimage, softimage is able to use the texture that was set for the viewport to display that texture in the hardware render for its viewport (not the final quality render, just the draft render),

which is cool, but if the maxwell material has only bump maps and otherwise just color settings, then the result in my softimage viewport is bound to what i could select in the "set texture displayed ..." as far as I so far figured out.

Image

Question, which material parameter can I bind to another nice texture and set it to not have any effect on the final render ... so I could render myself the final color and import as dummy texture for the maxwell material ... to use in softimage and have a more pleasing environment while working ...

Regards,
Frank

From your example you're working with referenced materials so what you could do is load a texture in the reflect 0 slot for example but then uncheck the checkbox by the yellow texture chip. Then set the material to use this texture as the active texture and save the material. The texture path should be then saved with the material but it's actually not used.
