Hi guys, just wondering if you can start HDR Light Studio from within Maxwell Studio.

Here clicking the button does not start HDR Light Studio at all.

Reinstalling MS does not help either!

Any ideas?

Cheers

Hey, you are right. THE BUTTON IS MISSING..... I kept thinking that you have to click the button in the drop down "Type", but having a look at my PC version clearly shows that the button to launch HDR Light Studio is missing!!!

Bummer. Hope they can fix that soon....

I was informed, that with the next patch of Maxwell ( very soon) HDRLS will be integrated in Studio on Mac. You have then to install an additional plugin ( offered by HDRLS on there webpage for official customers).

Thanks for the good news. Am working on a project right now where I would love to use HDR LS, so I can't wait for them to get this sorted out soon enough!

Cheers from München

Nothing so far.... HDR Studio is pretty much useless this way, don't ya think?

I disagree. Obviously it would be best to have it running live but before this upgrade I was using HDRLS in a seemingly convoluted way on Mac via Parallels running Windows and exporting quick 1500px HDRs and updating with Fire in Cinema on OSX. Even with all those hoops it was a very swift workflow and the final renders in Maxwell fly with only a HDR for lighting.

Rich, I understand your approach but my problem right now is that I did a cross upgrade from my HDR Studio Version 3 on PC to HDR Studio 4 for MAC. So basically I can not use the HDR Studio Version 4 at all since I only have the MAC version running on my system and can not use the version 4 on a PC. I only have one version of HDR Studio and that one only runs on MACs.

So, again. The MAC Version is useless for me at the moment. There's no way I can use maxwell/fire with version 4 on my Mac. Only thing I can do is use my old version 3 on my PC to set up a HDR and transfer that to my Mac and use that.

I just hope Nextlimit will bring out a small update for Maxwell Studio which includes the "Start HDR Studio" button.....

Cheers

No I understand your frustration, I did the same crossgrade. I'm just saying you can still use the Mac version, keep exporting small HDRs while you work on your lighting and Fire will keep updating the render. That's how I used to do it, but I don't have to run it via Parallels any more. I look forward to the update too, though.
