Hi ,

Is there a PDF-Manual of 2.7.10 available ? I would like to live the old style with printed papers ;)...

Hi Tom,

No. Since Maxwell 2.6 we decided to create our documentation only in the online wiki-like format, so I would be always accessible and always updated.

It is true that a pdf document could be more nicely designed, but the huge size of our current documentation, and the benefits that the online resource provides, makes worth the change.

Anyway, it is nice to hear you miss the old pdf Manual

Cheers!

Hey Tom, check out this utility: http://download.cnet.com/WinWSD-WebSite ... 62531.html

It's a "web site downloader." It'll pull as much of the documentation as you specify. You can specify which directories it downloads, which media to skip, etc. So then you're given a bunch of offline files on your local machine. Then figuring out an organized way to print it out would be up to you.

@All Thank you. Nevertheless i´m a big fan of printed documents, old-style, reading in bed, on the desk, scribble in it ... ;). I will try the mentioned link :

Best,
Tom

Could you give some examples of your search terms?

I go to documentation and search for "Caustics" in the search bar at the top...the first resulat is "AGS". That is nearly the exact opposite of what I want to find information about.

In fact, by searching for caustics, not a single thing even remotely close to the "Refl. Caustics" or "Refrac. Caustics" shows up, which is mainly what I wanted to find more info about.

I think it's because we haven't added that info :) We'll try to add a page explaining in detail what these are.

Nothing beats reading the Maxwell Render manual in the bathtub with a glass of ale!
