Resuming renders not working after 2.7 upgrade

Big problem

- I rendered 7 files to approx. SL 17 and wanted to bump them to 19 over night
- I right-clicked on the render in the Monitor, chose Resume and typed in the desired SL and an hour extra time
- Result: the file starts rendering at approx SL 15 and achieves sometimes the original SL 17 but never 19
- Same thing happens via the network wizard initiating the render from within Studio

Also I noticed, the Time Elapsed etc. are even wonkier as they have been totally off after upgrading anyway.

Restarted, tried different node combinations - same issue. Original MXS, MXI, MXMs all there, no paths have changed, no Windows upgrade was done.

Is this a bug or am I missing something when resuming jobs from the list in the Monitor? Is resume broken? I'm on a deadline and need to get rid of the art of noise.

Thanks for any insights!

I have not run into this.

Thought: You could run a completely new coop render, then manually merge the S.L. 17 version with the new one. I have resumed animation frames plenty of times with no issues. Maybe it's different with coop renders?

Cheers, so I render a new one to, let's say, SL 10 and then merge it with the old SL 17 and end up at SL 19 or higher or whatever? I'll try that right away.

How did it go?

With the flow... ... ... :]

But thanks for asking. I re-render all seven MXS to SL 19 from scratch, because I also had that "channels-not-embedded-in-TIFs" problem. Once the job's done in a few hours, I try resuming once again to see what gives. But, since you suggested it, how much does a SL 10 render bump a SL 20 render - to SL 21 or something like that? Is there a rule of thumb?

ps: where did you get that OSB texture the flashlight is placed on? It's not a high-res Arroway texture.

I think there is a formula, but I don't know it...

I made it from a photo reference and Image Synth years ago.

Managed to "successfully" reproduce faulty resuming cooperative renders with NL support; they're looking at a fix for that. Now, that's what I call good customer care.
