issues in interior + curtains + Arealights

hi,
i've an interior with curtains on all windows.
I'm facing quite a lot of issues in balancing results with speed.
If i want to avoid physical sky or dome, i've to go for Arealights but these cast shadows and SUN cant enter the room. I can disable Arealights GI and sun enters but then area light doesnt behave correctly.
In general, i would really need a "dont cast shadows" for exported Arealights - i mean, Arealight's body shouldnt cast shadow on other objects. Arealight's emitted light should cast shadow as usual.. hope it's clear.

From which app are you exporting? It is possible from most apps. It relays first on material to avoid casting shadows and second in object properties to make it hidden from camera and reflections/refractions.

Lightwave.
there's a hide from camera option and it works; Ghost material option is there but doesnt work, at this point this must be a bug.
If i put an arealight out of a window, it blocks sun; i tried with geometry now, and using the trick in the tutorial, and it's ok ;)

You have to add a BDSF (not a layer) to the emitter material with full white transmittance and Nd = 1. That should work.

yes, that's what i did and it works.
What i'm saying is that it would be nice to have an option to get same result with an exported AreaLight from Lightwave, instead of having to rely on geometry.
Actually the option fot "ghost behavior" is present in Light's options, but it doesnt seem to work properly, unless i missed something.
