weird things : 1 node vs 4 nodes

Hi all
I've noticed a weird thing
An image rendered with 4 nodes has more noise than a one rendered with a single node
Of course, all nodes have the same configuration and the SL reached is the same
Is it a known issue ?
The model is lightened with a HDRI HQ and emitter and IES, and the difference between the two renderings seems to disapear if i use Maxwell environnement settings instead of the HDRI.
Have you experienced the same issue ?

I think it is noise introduced from the merging process. If so, I believe it's a known it's a known issue.

Ok i'm agree with you Brian concerning the merging process.
but i think it's a new issue, because i don't remember it was the same before v2.6
Well, i hope NL will fix that problem soon
Thank you for your answer

if you have the time try without/replace the ies emitter.
just a guess..

It only happens in rare cases, not every merged render. Maybe polynurb is right about the IES.

Is this with 2.6.10 running on all the nodes?

Mihai, no we are still using 2.6.0.0, but all the nodes have the same configuration.
we are planning to update next week.
To Brian and polynurb, i'll try a test without any ies this week-end.

Ahhh, it was a problem with 2.6!

Hmmm... I'm experiencing the same problem in 2.6.10 right now. Using Physical sky, mxi emitters, multilight on, around the same SLs. The merged preview shows nasty white dots while the mxi from one node doesn't and looks cleaner.
I'll try a manual merge and see how it looks.
Edit: Well, manual merge looks the same.

Hum That sounds bad news so
Well, when i worked with mentalray or vray for animations with hdri I have to blur it a lot to have stability on lightning through time and avoid flickering. Maybe it's a option with maxwell too concerning multi merging process. i can't test it this we...ouin !.. I have to find my eastern eggs first

I think it started to happen when I introduced a frosted glass in the scene.

no frosted glass in my scene, but real glass instead of AGS I must to admit.
But there's no problem with one node so noise is not a problem in this scene.

I have tried without any IES...
Doesn't seem to work better...
