Rendering via Amazon Cloud Computing

Has anyone out there had any success setting up any variation of a renderfarm over Amazon's Cloud Computing services?
We're trying to setup a farm over there but are having difficulty getting nodes on different computing instances to see the manager and monitor running on a separate instance.

carefull with EC2 - you also pay the network traffic
an coop render on 10 pc and mxi of 3gb means 27gb traffic !

i not see the advantage of EC2 - the admin - lack of support ...
there are better solutions avaliable yet
