Render is black Fire isn't

I've got an issue with this file. It originally had a bunch more stuff in it but I've widdled it down to basically nothing and the problem persists. The Fire preview works fine but when I hit Render the rendering is always black. Any ideas?

The render channel is not selected.

Besides, the internet doesn't have enough room for a tome of that size.
