White background with reflection

Hey,
I need to create a product shot of a computer on a white background that has a shadow and slight reflection on the floor. I have seen several shots in the gallery that pull this off, several rings in the jewelry section and some products in the product section.
Maybe this topic has been discussed before and someone can point me to it or lend some advice.

For my work, I use a clear AGS material. adjust the transparency so it's only like 20% transparent and have a large light coming from the back, underneath. The transparency level of the material will need to be adjusted depending on how bright your underneath backlight is. Or just do a glossy opaque surface and pump up the levels in photoshop afterwards.I can't give you a detailed example right now, but if that doesn't make sense, let me know and i'll post an example when i get a chance.

Thanks, I ended up using a skydome and it worked fairly well. I then selected the background and lightened it up.
