To Hervé - Vector Displacement Maps from 3DCoat

Hi Hervé,
now I know why you were that insisting in terms of getting Vector Displacement exported properly from 3DCoat :)
I just did my own first tests but I do not get anything useful from all Vector-Displacement Maps offered in Microvertex-Painting
(I tried all 3 options). With these Maps loaded as Vector Displacement the Image either doesn't render at all, or just black.
Did you get this going and maybe even have a simple sample to share?

Thanks, Holger

hello...

do this..

load a base model... and then go to the sculpt room... only what you will do in Sculpt room will be exported as a Vector map..

I posted a question over at the 3D coat forum.. but got no answer from the dev so far...

Hi Hervé,
thanks for your reply. Yes I tried the Sculpt room but was hoping for some cool workflows...
From my first simple tests it seems that Vector Displacement is blazing fast...

I would really recommend you to contact Andrew directly with such matters!
His English is not very good so best illustrate precisely what you want but then it isn't unlikely
that he comes up with a quick solution.
To me it seem this whole matter will start making more sense from 3DCoat from version 4 on,
because Andrew announced that one then will be able to paint on Voxels directly and UV-Map
or assign Ptex later.
