Can anyone help me?! Upon trying to run Maxwell today (as I have everyday for over 2 years), all of my registration info was gone. I tried a re-install, but still nothing. I looked up my license info in the customer area on next limits web site. Even found the original email with the actual license. The problem is that the license.txt file is missing and the 'license info' tab in the actual software is also gone. I have contacted Next Limit, but I was wondering if anyone on here good give me an answer sooner. thanks!

Josh

I fixed it, I had somehow deleted the Maxwell folder in My Documents that contained the license information.

[edit: I see you figured it out, but I'll post this anyway]

The applications expect to find license.txt at one of the following locations:
  1. MAXWELL2_ROOT, typically C:\Program Files\Next Limit\Maxwell 2\license.txt.
  2. Documents\Maxwell, typically C:\Users\[username]\My Documents\Maxwell\license.txt.
If (afaik), at startup, license.txt is found in the first location, it will be copied to the second. So, since you say that you have the actual license info, you should probably try directly creating a new license.txt in either of those locations, with the license data being contained in the file. It can be touchy, as far as there being extra blank lines in the file, so check that if you run into problems.

This is correct, except in my observations the order is reversed. It will look in the user dir first, then in the application dir.
