About limited region

Hi,
lets suppose i rendered a pic and i have a small error to correct.
I can easily make a limited region and re-render that area only, but it will be another MXI.
If i have multilight on and i want to try several exposurex/mixes, it would be optimal to merge main MXI with limited region MXI in one unique MXI, and expose the whole pic. It seems by now there's no way to do this, and so i have to expose main pic and limited region pic separately; am i losing something ?
thanks,
Paolo

Is there any way we could have it where you could render a region of a existing render and continue only on that part for an "x" amount of hours till it clears up.??

it could be useful. Also, i'd like an option so we can *replace* an area of an exhisting rendering with a region.
Fprime for LW could do it and i used it a lot.
From a physical POV, if you cnahge something in the scene probably it's not enough to render just a region since everything in the scene affects everything.
From a much more production-oriented POV, i can say that often there are small glitches in a final pic that i would love this feature. an example which happens often is a carpet or grass displacement; once it's refined, i dont like result or i want to have fibers 2 cm taller. In a case like this a replace area feature would be killer.
Now we can render a limited region, but we cant merge the original DSI with new area's one, and this is an issue when you have to expose a lot or use multilight.
(PS: going to post this in wishlist too).

You will decide your ML exposure using the main image, if you need to re-expose just keep the original mxi and render region mxi the resave and recomp in Photoshop, Its not hard, and will take a few mouse clicks, but the need to completely re-expose the mxi's is rare, esp if you save in 16bit to start with.
I comp in changes to complex Arch renders every week so I do know the issues. I just dont think its that tricky to comp in regions.
my 2 cents...
