Good find! I guess we can look for a hair system now. As I do mostly architectural renderings this would be a nice addition to do grass with.

nope, the Meindbender animation used hair geometry from Maya that was converted to polys for rendering in Maxwell.

A bit of misdirection then perhaps by using that to illustrate a new hair system. Nevertheless, the video is put together by Maxwell, yes? So I'm sure they wouldn't have added the not about a new hair system if it weren't in the next release.

That's right the 2011 showreel says New Motion Blur and New Hair System...
We should expect what it says then.

I stand corrected :) It looks like a new hair system after all. Which is great news :)

the only reason I said that the Meindbender hair was created in Maya was because that was what the Meindbender team had said in interviews, but maybe they just weren't at liberty to reveal the new feature in Maxwell.
