say i have several maps in the diffuse, bump, roughness etc slots. is there a way to change the scale on all of them globally for that material?

Not in the Maxwell material editor, but some plugins allow it.

Is there some reason you can't accomplish what you want by scaling the projector?

What if it is a leaf texture on a tree with thousands of leaves?

not sure what the projector is
basically i have the different colour versions of the same texture in different slots and would like to change the overall scale of the material. it would make sense to have a global scale parameter so i don't have to look for and adjust maps separately. maybe a control next to the global bump?

Projector is the UV set -- which you can change if it is not locked, either numerically or with the scale widget in UV edit mode (assuming you are studio).
Best,
Jason.

That won't always work and even when it does, is a hack work around for a feature that should be included in Maxwell.
just so you know, if you do your UV layout in your 3d program, the uv projectors are locked and you can't adjust anything without laying them out in studio. Even with that, adjusting the projector would cause all materials on the object to be affected.
They definitely need too add global, per material, texture adjustments. I run into this ALLLL the time and it is such a HUGE time sink to manually adjust every texture.

thanks but your advice came too late

. i fiddled with the different types of mapping and realised after that i had lost my original mapping. there should at least be a way to go back to my original mapping (maybe there is?)! anyway, no harm done as this is just a test project and i just closed the scene without saving and went to bed.
+1 that this is a missing basic feature. it's a big time saver to be able to adjust this globally.

+1 Now and then I have the same problem.
This should be on the wish list

The weird thing is, I'm sure there was a feature like this in an earlier version... But maybe I'm thinking of a plugin. I'd definitely like a global change too, as it can take ages to adjust all the layers and if you miss one you're screwed.
