Hi
If I got an metal object which makes weird reflection patterns I don't want. How can I avoid them?
Is this, what indirect reflection / refraction is for?
thanks, kami

What sort of reflection patterns? I think what you're talking about are the options under the Illumination and Caustics section of the Render Options Panel?

If your patterns are caustics, then those will work, if not, they won't do you any good.

Yes, I was talking abot these settings (Direct Reflection / Refrection / Illumination also exists, but I think I better leave those as they are :))
I got some chromed window frames and now I get some lines on the ceiling of the interior which I don't want to be there. I hope the general quality of the rendering won't be much worse with disabling these indirect reflections?

I haven't used them for interiors but I do turn them off sometimes for exterior renderings where the sun is causing huge (caustic) bright spots to be reflected back onto the ground and the overall quality has been fine.
