Quality setting on Fire

Good morning Maxwell friends,

Can anyone explain what the Quality setting in Fire is and how one determines where to set it?

We have read the Manual entries on this and have found no real explanation.

Also, once you have enabled Fire, can you stop it, close the program and then restart it and resume from where you left off, or do you start over again?

Thank you.

With the Fire render window open, click the Options tab at the top and then Settings. I believe the Quality parameter goes from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest), and will determin how much time the interactive preview takes on clearing the image.

About your second question, I believe you have to re-activate Fire when you close and open a project. Though I could be wrong on that.

The quality level controls the resolution of the preview, so if you're running a big FIRE window you can set the Quality higher to get a sharper preview render. Quality setting won't affect in any way the shading quality of the preview.

Good info. I was wondering what that did as well. Is that in the manual? Maybe the name could be changed in a future update to make that more clear.
