Maxwell Render | Official public forum

I would like to start a tip of the day for Maxwell materials, which is vast and complex subject -- I think it would be fun and a good exercise for the whole community but I don't want to be the only one contributing... is there anybody else who would like to participate in something like this?

it seems that something is broken in every maxwell build so the tip of the day would only apply to specific versions..
... maybe more a base on info for "workarounds" to current limitations.. as every build of maxwell seems to have its own quirks and bugs.. the tip of the day can be specified to version number and the solution. I'm thinking of the current ags/casutics limitation and how to workaround it as posted in another thread..as a tip of the day-- that way one could just goto the tip of the day thread and find their issue with a certain build (without having to search through tons of threads)...

Yep, that could be one function of a tip of the day -- but another would be to share knowledge and techniques that are just useful in general... a repository of Maxwell knowledge that could condense that collective information into a single point of reference for everybody.

I think it could help encourage exploration, testing, and a general increase in the quality of Maxwell output for all.

I know I could probably share 10-15 tricks and tips right now that would be of use, and I'm sure others have many more than that up their sleeve.

sounds like a great idea. material creation is a huge part of maxwell I think and there are a lot of different ways to get a good material. i feel like i've learned some tricks but could really benefit from seeing how other people go about creating materials.
