Hexa Core

Hi guys,

Is there anyone around here who's using an Intel Core I7 970 3.20 GHz Hexa Core CPU? I've currently got an Intel Core i7 quad CPU 2.67 GHz - overclocked to 3.3 GHz - and am wondering if the Hexa Core really makes a noticeable difference in Maxwell rendering speed (both final renders and Fire preview rendering) ?

If you own and use the above-mentioned Hexa Core, did you overclock it, and if yes, how much?

Thanks!

Metin

I've got one and it's x1.6 faster than 920 at non OC speed.
Some bench results :

Yes

i7 930 @ 4GHz ~7:30min BM ~1400

i7 980x @ 4,2GHz ~4:44min BM ~2250
(i don't have a 4GHz score)

so maxwell is scaling nearly linear compared to the number of cores

nice link! we should have done this here too - but who thought that it would take so long to get a new benchwell site...
