please advise
what material settings should i use for : glass/Plexiglas box with light inside

it looks like the problem there is either the glass is modeled too thick or the attenuation is set too low/ transmittance color too dark.

For standard glass something like this should suffice:

A light inside of a glass volume will emit only caustics (for any rays to reach the camera, first it will have to first travel through a volume of glass which will greatly increase calculations), so it will be very noisy. I would use a custom image based emitter. Or in this case AGS may work.
