Have you modeled glass lenses on the light fixtures? If so, this may be causing the caustics noise.

no glass
the arm spot is made of chrome metal

Try increasing the roughness of the reflector on the light fixtures if they are at 0 roughness.

No, I'm actually working at a deadline today... so I was skimming the forum and thought I might be able to give some tips.

You have extremely high emitter values in that scene (25000w*300lm/w). 7 million and a half lumens is a bit bright for a spotlight :P
You also have more normal emitters, which give about 700 lumens. The normal emitters mixed with these super powerful ones will make the regular emitters calculate slower and have more noise because of this huge difference in strength.

Try to create all your emitters using real world values. If the scene looks too dark, change your camera settings instead that control the exposure (fstop, ISO, shutterspeed).

You can also avoid having so many ML sliders, will consume a lot of ram, make MXI file writing slower and especially if your computer runs out of ram it starts using your scratch disk and the render will really slow down. You can use the same emitter material on any emitter geometry that you want to control from one slider.

Thank you Mihai
I had the feeling that something strange with the amount of light and the high values .
now i will try using the camera settings.
