MXI files are crashing MR

Hi all,

I am having a problem with MXI files that get created on my 64 bit machine. I try to open them in Maxwell render on my 32 bit windows, but MR crashes. Even if I open it on my 64 bit machine, MR crashes.

Anything I should do differently? Should I send the MXI file to anyone?

Cheers,

Tom.

Hello piroshki,

Is that MXI file huge in weight (Mb)? Could it be then something related to your amount of Ram memory available?

Big resolution MXI renders or including a lot of MultiLight sliders (or Color MultiLight) could be big files.

If doesn't, could then be related to the version of Maxwell used to generate that render and the version of Maxwell used to open it?

Cheers

Hi Dario,

Thanks for the response. The files are large, but not huge (60mb). I've worked on 120mb files without a problem, so I don't think its an issue of size. I will check the versions on both machines to make sure that is not the issue.

Well - same version on both machines. Only difference is one is 64bit, the other is 32.

To further add to this, the photoshop plugin also fails - says something about file format.

This is become a big issue as I can't adjust anything any more once the render is complete. Any time I try and open the MXI file I crash Maxwell Render, or the PShop plugin... No post-processing is very problematic!!!

Help!

All your MXI files cause a crash? You have the latest Maxwell on both machines, and the network patch? Please send me a zipped mxi if you can, PM me the link.
