NETWORK RENDER: No connection for client node :-(

Hi all,

I have 2 PPC machines running under Mac OS 10.5.8 for network rendering.
The problem I encountered is that the node on the client machine doesn't get any connection to the Network Manager, or constantly produces error messages on the manager, never resulting in a proper connection.
I have absolutely no idea what the problem is, as I can access the machine remotely without any problem....

I only used default values for the settings.

Help would be very much appreciated!

Cheers

actually no, the second machine should also appear in the monitors list i'd say, or am I wrong?

Have you changed this in the node preferences?:

Try pushing the Default button to reset everything.

Yes I did.
I also deactivated all kinds of firewalls and stuff like this to see what happens, but nothing...
could the router that connects the machines be some kind of an obstacle?

in the meantime, simply by doing an modifying nothing I managed to solve the problem, at least at one startup and usage.
Didn't have the time to test it better, so hopefully it'll still be working after the next startup!
