Can I export the .mxs files to do a time lapse of the sun moving in studio?. I saw something liek this a long time ago but can't find anything on it now!

ie set a specific time period from 9 am to noon ?

You have to do it manually in Studio, but it's easier to do through a plugin like the Max plugin.
