v2.1 different exposure (brighter)?

Firstly, thank you for a great new release with numerous bug fixes, including the ability to animate the camera shutter speed, an issue I've be having problems with - thanks!

Secondly, now this isn't a moan, just a query! Have the emitter or camera exposure / response curve settings changed in 2.1? I find that when I re-render files from 2.0.3 they are a bit brighter in 2.1. As I say it's not a moan as it's a pretty quick fix but I just wondered whether there had been some changes inside the engine that would account for this difference in exposure?

No, we don't expect changes in exposure. Could you share images showing the difference?

I saw it too, I just thought of it as an improvement... so I didn't mention it.

Best,
Jason.

Tom, thanks for getting back. The following are a couple of small crops (sorry, client confidentiality) from a project I was midway through. I know I shouldn't upgrade in the middle of a project but...

As I say, it's not a moan as I actually prefer the 2.1 version (the illuminated posters are less washed out!), I was just surprised at the change.

Rendered in 2.0.3 with shutter speed at 1/20th of a second

Rendered in 2.1 (no other changes) and had to reduce the shutter to 1/40th of a second!
(I think the illuminated poster is better than before
and there's a little more red in the glass inter-reflections)

But, the overall exposure looks intact. So, could it be your MXI emitter?

I saw it on the simball scene right away... but like I say I thought of it as an improvement (or at least the side effects of an improvement).

Best,
Jason.

Tom, the overall exposure is kept the same but I've had to half the shutter speed from 1/20th to 1/40th (I guessed with this value and it seemed to work!). The mxi file on the illuminated poster hasn't changed at all between the two renders, in fact nothing has changed between the two versions. It's not a problem, I just wondered why it was happening.

Half Life, I agree, I think it's an improvement! (even if not deliberate!)

Well, playing with shutter means changing the exposure anyway. But as I cannot confirm this difference in a cornell, it could be something specific with IBL or physical sky maybe. So, what kind of illumination do you have? What happens when you only use emitters?

Looks to me like a better CM - the shadow in the glass cube is different too.
