Sorry if this has been answered before, but is there any way to start another instance of Maxwell on a Mac after the first one has been started. I can do it through the plugin but is there a way to do it if I want to resume renders?

Hi Peder,
yes this is a limitation of Finder in OSX, it only lets open one instance per aplication. The only way to do it is writing something like:
Code: Select all"/Applications/Maxwell 2/Maxwell.app/Contents/MacOS/Maxwell"
in a terminal Window.
Best regards

Thanks. Meahwhile I found another workaround by simply starting a new render from the plugin and then stopping it to use this instance as my secondary render.

Peder

I know this thread is a bit old, but I did last week a small utility app that does exactly that, but for every kind of file. Just drop the file you want to open on top of this attached application and it will open the file in another instance of the application the file has assigned. Just put it in your Dock, and drop any file on it.
