I left for a while tonight and left a render running but the computer was asleep when I got home. Does Maxwell not prevent the computer from sleeping in OS X?

I don't know any app that does that... It has to be changed from your control panel - energy options...

Most programs that render send a message to the OS that says "we're busy so don't sleep." I'll do some testing and see

If this is true, then post it to the wishlist, it would be useful and environment-friendly

Hi all,

We do not tell explicitly to OSX not to sleep if system is configured to do so in a timely manner, and I don't know if others do.

But you can avoid it by setting your Energy Saving preferences to something above twelve minutes (that's the average file saving time in Maxwell between file updates), something like 15 minutes will work. You can also set Maxwell to update more frequently in Maxwell preferences (since 2.0.2). Accessing to hard disk avoids automatic sleep. You can get some more info here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1776 .

I think with both options you can cover most of the cases. But if it's not enough please write it in the wish list and we will evaluate it for a future Maxwell update.

Best regards,
