odd occurance

i am trying to brighten up the table top and the pics but cranking up my overhead emitter is coming back with something odd. here is my image
here is the image with the the overhead emitter solo and cranked up to 800000 watts

check normals emitter are no inverted... maybe

nope the planes normals are facing the right way, it is pulled back from the surface a little but it is lighting the brick and the tabletop a little but not the images

I'd say get everything else correct first. Scene scale correct? There's no reason you would need to use 800000 on an emitter!

I tend to go back to clay materials and rule out errors in material setups first and then go down the ladder one by one
is it the material
is it the emitter
is it the geometry
would be a simple approach
