If I have a number of mxs files saved that I ran out to SL5, and then wanted later on (like when I leave the office) to render those to a higher SL one after another, is there a way to set that up in Maxwell Render without having to come back every few hours and load another mxs?

Check out maxwell scripting in Maxwell render. There are a few presets that you can look through for pointers on how to write a script to do this.
