I have a large complex building with bricks, and want to place them as realistic as possible.
there is no UV mapping on the objects (not possible in Formz)
here is what I do:
I make a png which covers a 10x10 meter surface with brick texture.
in studio, texture picker, I select method: tile xy, and Meters
I set repeat to 10 (x) - 10 (y)
then I select all the walls, and in UV sets select all the objects, then set type to cubic, then click Normalize.
this gives me on all objects the correct size of the texture.
but the height levels are still different. so I figure, if I change the position for Y, they will all match. but if I change toe position Y to zero, or anything else, the scale in 3 directions changes too!!!!
the documentation on uv mapping is very poor in the manual.
I know I could merge the objects to get 1 big object but I don't do this for 2 reasons, first the whole setup is very complex and would take a lot of time to select all those walls which are orientated in one XZ direction, and second the texture might change between walls, and there is no undo to make separate objects again once the merge has happened, so I am stuck there.
how do I solve this? it is too complex to select object by object and adjust the heights.
thanks
