Displacement Layer slowing down rendering

I made a simple cup model with on .hdr for IBL.
The cup consists of two materials in one multi-mat. id 1 and 2.
When I add displacmen to id2 the rendering really slows down. Is this normal?

Yes.
Displacement adds many informations to scene , so it renders slowly.
The most important thing is how accurate this displacement is .... if You set ADAPTATIVE it will be very good but slow.

Yes I set adaptive. Benchmark was around 38 with thwo displacement materials. Down from over 200.
I'll will try some more settings but wasn't sure if it was the scene setup or whatever which results in longer rendertimes. :)

But it looks awesome. Thats true. ;)
