to: v2 - behind the scenes

I was wondering about some v2 pictures as they are a lot brighter but also flatter than their 1.7 counterparts.

The image I dislike most is the one in 2.3 about the moire effect.
The underlying color table is blown out, the top left red looks more like the orange from 1.7 to me and the black does a jump from gray to black instead of darker in regular style... what happened there? Did you use another picture as base?

(I tried it in Opera and IE to see if there are differences in the way the pictures are displayed, but I cannot find any. The images look that bad in both browsers.)

It's because the color texture itself is just like it's rendered in 2.0. I will exclusively send you a test and comparison here with the texture. ;)

Please tell us, what other images you dislike and the reasons.

point 4.6 the last 2 pictures are really flat and bright.

(the rest of the pictures are fine, but compared to the 1.7 versions next to them they are brighter.)

What I look forward to test is the thinsss in combination with a technical draft as you've shown. (still have several ones around so the comparison is easily made. :)

What is wrong with internet explorer display??

I remark that many picture from V2 come out very washed out when I see them on internet explorer.( it works fine on google chrome, I don't try on firefox yet)
Maybe macray have the same problem and talk about that.

Opera and IE can't display some PNG files correctly. See here for details.

Lately IE and Opera are not capable of showing png files correctly. Try with Firefox or download and open in another program.

EDIT: wow! at least 5 posts late. :P

any workaround for opera users? I'm not going to abandon the browser I use since v5 just for one website...

btw: as far as I've seen all is displayed correct when jpegs are used - could you please adjust the post, Tom?

I re-adjusted the post and removed color profiling from those PNG images. Btw, know with what you browse, always use Firefox! ;)
