It will install in a separate folder, you don't have to remove 1.7 first.

So, can I have both versions running at the same time? without any problems?
thanks

But, if multiple version Maxwelling causes trouble at home, I don't take responsibility. :D

If you usually launch maxwell from your modelling app, you will have to uninstall the new plugins and re-install the older ones in case you want to render with 1.7

In case of Cinema 4D as a modeling application you can copy entire folder of Cinema to new one and have even both version of plugin available.
