Thanks, Brett! It's been done using poly and modifiers in 3ds max. The outer glass is thick and there is a secondary thin volume trapped in its walls.

That looks interesting but smells like the typical limitation of caustics on speculars (aka. sun-through-glass) issue. What happens if you float that horizontal brick?

Yes, we've noticed sun caustics may cause some individual spots although, very rarely indeed. But, it's one of the things we will check next time, no worries.
