I'm having a hard time tracking down the setting that outputs each emitter group as an image file. I want to be able to isolate one of the emitter groups so I can use it as a mask in my final image. I know I can get the material or object image but that's not helpful as I need to also mask the glow of the emitter.

It seems that if I choose to embed the various channels within the output image, I get additional files for each of the emitters...but that's not always the case. Also, when rendering via cooperative network, I never get the files at all.

Any help?

Thanks,
Sean

Well you have to have multilight on first of all. From there you could do it manually by adjusting the sliders and saving individual images. Or if you have the photoshop plugin you can open the mxi in photoshop and it will separate them for you with appropriate blending modes (still have to have ML checked though).

ya, the ps plugin is great. it has it's own forum you might check out. imports all the associated images and labels them pretty well and let's you pick between opening it in 8,16,32 bit. and if you're using ML it does some awesome stuff (nearly eliminates the need for intensity + color as you can adjust the individual emitter colors right in PS).
