Hi folks,

On my system with 6gb of ram and Vista 64, Cinema64bit 10.5 crash when i try to render or export a 30 mb (or more) .C4d scene with Maxwell 64bit 1.7.1.
The plugin is 1.7f1 (the latest one)

The MaxwellStudio work fine on that system, so if I try to open and render a scene that come from another PC I don't have problem.

Also I tried to render the same scene with my notebook with Win XP 32 2Gb Ram and work fine....

At this point I think that could be a bug in the 64bit plugin..

Any Idea?

Is this true for all files over 30MB, or have you only tried with a specific one? Also, can you be more specific about what you mean by saying 'crash'? Does C4D give you an error box, and can you look in the _bugreports folder of your C4D installation to find a recent _BugReport.txt file?

Hi JDHill,

thanks for your reply.

The Crash happens with all files over the 30 Mb (I can test this with 4 files of 30, 40, 75 and 115 Mb)

Yes I got a error box, tonight I'll take a look in the bugreport.tx file

I have also try with Cinema 32bit on Vista64 and work fine..
The issue still remain with Cinema64.
But for now I got a decent workaround..

Thanks. May I assume that because you are getting this error box directly from Vista, that Cinema does not have a chance to write a new BugReport.txt file? We will have to see if anyone else has a report like this - in the meantime, it may not be a bad idea to run some memory tests. This type of crash does not necessarily point to a bug in the plugin, for example, hereis a page which shows someone having a similar problem running a different application - the resolutions found were not related to the application at all. Until some other 64bit users report the same problem, it would be best to seek solutions which address possible machine-specific issues; in doing so, Google is your best friend, along with a list of the specs of your machine and any modified drivers, etc., you may have installed by now.

I have the same problem. But i thing this is a problem with Cinema + Vista 64. I have second machine with XP 64. On WIN XP i can export the same scene, which is sevad with Vista just before, without problem. I was really angry and did not find reason. But now, when you posted your point (30MB scene) its clear. Same problem comes with Cinema 4D 11 DEMO.

Sometimes when scene crashes during mxs export i can not open that scene any more. I must restart computer and then i can sometimes open "corrupted" scene.

Hi Spekoun,

I'm not expert in software but I think that this problem is related to Cinema 64bit and his plugin under Vista64.

You can try to use Cinema x32 under Vista 64 (in my case work fine)

Can you please try this again with the new 1.8 plugin? The export code is completely different than before, and I don't know of any technical reason why the bug should exist, so please let me know what you find.

Hi JD,

with the new plugin nothing is change.

On Vista 64, Cinema 32 work fine, Cinema 64 crash when I attemp to export scene bigger than 30 mb.

Thanks for confirming that, I'll be looking into it. Please let me know if you can find a _BugReport.txt file in the C4D _bugreports folder after one of these crashes (the _bugreports folder should be at the same location as your preferences on Vista).
